Ascension Day

Today is Ascension Day. Jesus returned to sit enthroned in glory at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us..

Let the earth rejoice and sing,

At the triumph of our King.

He ascends from mortal sight,

Reigns now at our Father's right.

He who died upon a tree

Now shall reign eternally;

He who saved our fallen race

Takes in heav'n his rightful place.

Jesus, Lord, all hail to thee.

On this day of victory.

Thou didst shatter Satan's might,

Rising glorious from the fight.

Jesus, Victor, hear our prayer,

In thy triumph let us share;

Lift our minds and hearts above,

Strengthen all men in thy love.

While in heaven thou dost gaze

On thy Church who sings thy praise,

Fasten all our hope in thee

Till thy face unveiled we see.
